It has been a while. Again. I say that every time. Because it's true. We don't love blogging less. We're just enjoying life I suppose. So much that we don't have as much time to write about it unfortunately. But we're healthy, blessed, thankful and here now to recap the last month of Ussery Life!
The Fall has been a lot of fun and full of the usual pumpkin themed activities. Finn and I attended a MOPS event at Cahill's Market one day. We painted pumpkins and visited the animals. He said the bunnies were "crazy". Finn and I enjoy our Tuesday and Thursday mornings together while Jack is at school. It's our short moment of 'alone' time. Finn LOVED going to his different Fall activities as Batman.
Jack couldn't refuse some face painting at the Bluffton Seafood Festival. And yes, that's a face painted beard. Not dirt. Any other day, it's dirt.
Here are a few cuties we found wandering the streets of Hilton Head looking for some hand outs.
And here's one weirdo we found giving out H1N1 vaccines. Boy, those kids were disappointed. (This was John's grandmother's Red Cross Volunteer uniform!)
We have decided that the Terrible Twos are not specific to the AGE 2, but that kids are terrible starting at two and then every 2 years after that. Jack is 4. Do the math. Check out this shot of our little man being 2x2. For every difficult moment we have with him, he makes up for it with some sort of hilarious moment that we wouldn't trade for anything.
Finley is talking more and more every day. Yesterday he told us not to be mad at him "because I not YELL at you mom. I just said "no", so you can't be mad at me. Because I didn't yell." We're facing the brutal truth that our 2 year old is trying to reason with us. But...he's still 2. Here's Finn answering his pumpkin telephone.

We hosted the 2nd annual chili and pumkin' carvin' fest with Gigi and Poppy Johnny several weeks ago. We were thrilled with the Mr. Potato Head kits that Anna and Owen gave to the boys because it required no carving at all really. We were sad to realize that I, er...I mean, Jack, had misplaced the tiny pumpkin carving knives from last year. Needless to say our carved pumpkin turned out to have a facial deformity.

John went out of town for work a few weeks ago, and sadly, the rest of us got a nasty virus. Not the worst kind, which to us is anything stomach related. But the 2nd to worst kind, which is anything that involves high fevers and nasty coughs while Daddy/Husbands are out of town. Thankfully, Gigi invited us for a sleepover before the fevers began. We had fun hanging at her house. Finn sported his undies that day which started the beginning of what we hope is the end of his diaper days. The fevers might have kept us indoors, but they didn't keep us from consuming an insane amount of M&Ms every time we went pee pee!

And finally....Jack, Finn and I got to meet this little guy: AUSTIN!!! He's every bit as adorable and big and precious as all of his pictures have shown. He smiles and coos, and eats a lot. He's every bit baby, and we love him so much. We're so excited to have him in town for Thanksgiving. He's making us even more excited for our new niece or nephew due any day now from Uncle Matt and Aunt Melissa! YAY for cousins!
Jack and Finn always love their time with their aunts and uncles. Here is Finn with Uncle Jeff. He was very interested in Jeff's new facial do'. Finn would touch his beard and then ask for his hands to be wiped off! How funny. Finn is showing you his green bean...
Here's the Ussery/Smith crew at the Thanksgiving table. We had a yummy dinner on Friday. Per Jack's request we all went around and said what we were thankful for. There were a lot of Austins tossed around. I'm pretty sure he stole the show. Thank you, Johnny, for taking these pictures for me! You know I would forget.
We were able to spend actual Thanksgiving in Greensboro this year, which was great! We visited family and ate tons of yummy food with everyone. Clearly, no pictures. Johnny wasn't there to take pictures for me:)
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! We are so thankful and undeserving for all the Lord has blessed us with.
